Pocket money for 16 and 14yp

Theres a comment on the thread about clothes that has made me feel like a bad parent!
My teens don’t get pocket money. They are given cash (within reason) as they need it. The older one gets a bit of money from selling on Vinted. They both get a little bit of money as a reward for performance in their sports (they both asked for this and it’s a bit of fun, not serious in case anyone challenges this).
There aren’t really any external paid jobs for teens this age where we live, sadly.

So, what would be a reasonable amount for weekly spends and non-essential clothes etc? Trips to the chicken shop with friends, snacks, a bit to save for a desired but not needed tee-shirt for example? At the moment it definitely feels like the older teen gets more than he should.

ideas greatly appreciated 😊

DS1 aged 17 gets £50 a month. We pay phone, and clothes from Nike or Next etc. If he wants more expensive clothes he pays the difference. If he goes out (very rarely) we pay for it.
Same rule for DS2 aged 13, but he gets £20. We also pay gym, DS1 works out at home but we would pay for the gym if he went. We also buy DS1s season ticket, and DS2 gets treats during the year. His pm goes up when he turns 15

DD age 17 gets £60 a month. We pay for her train pass, phone, contact lenses, car insurance… she also works and earns about £120 a month minimum depending how many extra shifts she picks up.

What can you afford? And what do you think is a reasonable amount of treats?

I give DS17 £30/month and DD14 £20/month. I will also give a bit extra occasionally if they're going out. Or offer up my loyalty points/rewards e.g. cinema deals if they want to go to the cinema.

Their dad (XH) sometimes gives them a bit of money if they're going out from his house, but nothing regular.

I think that's probably less than the average amount among their friends, but it's all I can afford. They are welcome to bring friends over after school, and there are always snacks available if they do.

Their phones are paid for and I split the cost of gym (DS) and one hobby each with XH.

We do buy all necessary clothes and shoes etc. Though most clothes come from Vinted. So the pocket money is for socialising really. But it doesn't go far if you like bubble tea!

Edit: I also pay for an XBOX games pass and Netflix. I would do without Netflix if it were just me.

I'm starting to think I'm a complete tightwad compared to some on here.

If DD15 goes out with her friends we give her £10 to buy food/drinks/sweets. They don't tend to do any activities that cost money, just hang about the shops and parks playing ball games. She's paid £5 PW for a chore at home.
We buy all clothes, make up, toiletries etc.

If I gave her £20 pw she would spend it on Robux which to me is a complete waste of money.

@Baconking buying all clothes is an elastic term though. That could be pennies or hundreds of pounds a month.
