Acne-epiduo cream- sore skin

Psst1980 · 04/07/2025 21:03

My pre teen has been prescribed Epiduo cream and long term antibiotics for acne.
Skin is now getting dry and sore, especially after going swimming. Does anyone have any recommendations for a moisturiser that won’t clog pores and be greasy??

My son is 16 but has been using these for about 4 months - has made a huge difference. He uses a non-comogenic (?) moisturiser as it doesn’t clog pores. Also, a really good SPF, especially in this weather.

I like Aveeno products if they do one that is non pore clogging.

How you getting on Op? Has it helped? Looking for experiences before we start this for my ds

Lots of experience here. My recommendation would be he or she chooses a product from https://www.cetaphil.co.uk/. I've used lots of their products, never a problem. They do 'plain' ones, ones with SPF etc., all good.

Her skin is clear!! We used ceravee facial
moisturiser for oily skin in the evening and for the day - la Roche posay tinted face moisturiser spf 50 (they do a non tinted one- my daughter just wanted a touch of colour but be makeup free!)

The redness and flaky skin calmed down over about 3-4 weeks (I think this is what is supposed to happen!) and it’s been all good since then 👍

Good luck!

Amazing. Fingers crossed for same here. Do you just keep using it even once clear?

Sorry delayed reply. She stopped taking it for a while as she was taking other antibiotics for an infection. Unfortunately her skin went back to its original state 😕. She’s back on it again now and it’s clear again. How’s yours getting on?
