Hello

If you have any advice on products or techniques my DD can use to reduce scarring from self-harm I would be so grateful.

Thank you.

We have recommended bio oil to service users. There’s also a specific “camouflage “ make up that covers scars. I can’t remember the exact name. I’ll try and find an email now

Bio oil is good.
Also, for reassurance. Dd cut, albeit quite superficially as an older teenager. She's 27 now. The scars have all but disappeared.

Please look after yourself too.

Where are they? I had them and nothing really helped - at around 25 I covered them with a beautiful tattoo and it was honestly one of the most liberating things I’ve ever done. I assume Dd is way too young for that but could be an option for future years

I recommend bio oil too. Significantly helped my scars.

For medical reasons, I end up with more than my fair share of scars. Silicone tape works better than anything else. I find it helps both cosmetically and with discomfort as it keeps the scars flat.

Thank you so much to you all. I will look into all of this including the link.

This is new to us. It's all escalating and I feel completely helpless.
