DD stalked by ex - any experience?

DD broke up with her boyfriend a few months ago, and has just been told by his friend that her ex is stalking her. He has waited outside our house, and outside the restaurant she waitresses at. She hasn’t seen him there but has now found out that friends of hers have seen him in these places.

I am worried that this is a high risk situation as there were several red flags in their relationship around coercive control and so on. however this is all hearsay. Has anyone had any experience reporting something similar to the police?

I haven’t, but do have a DD, and if that was happening to her I absolutely wouldn’t hesitate to call the police, even if just to discuss it with them.
The ex bf may stop after a police visit, it may take more than that.
Protect your dd!!!!!

I'd be getting her dad to chaperone her for lifts etc and being very visible at home too. I'd also log it with the police and ask for a report number so if you need to contact them quickly they can see the backstory. He needs to see she has people around her who are protecting her as much as possible.

Thanks, worried though that without evidence it won’t be taken seriously by the police and will look malicious?

Suzy Lamplugh trust.

be persistent with police - ask if they have any officer who deals specifically with stalking. The whole point about stalking is it starts low and non violent etc.

Call the police. My sister’s ex boyfriend stalked our family when we were teens. Thankfully our and his dad put a stop to it, but as we all sadly know, some males turn sinister and twisted when they’ve been told no. This young male needs vehemently told that no means no.
