Teenage son and Andrew Tate

Please help. We are at our wits’ end. The boy’s behaviour at school and home is off the scale terrible, and I think he might be into Andrew Tate though I don’t know to what extent. He has Snapchat and I’ve been through it but obviously Snapchat doesn’t save stuff.

So, any advice as to how to handle this? Would getting him a “dumb phone” help, or just alienate him further?

Maybe a conversation about how his behaviour is affecting other things, and how he sees his life going forward - does he really want to be in trouble constantly? 13 is old enough to start growing up a bit. Sometimes with teenagers it's a case of getting them to take responsibility......

Sign up to qustodio or similar and select Snapchat as blocked or set download app limit to under 13. You can also just check his phone every night and make sure it's not there and every time it is confiscate his phone for a week. He will soon get the message. It will be a bit of effort but this is quite serious so worth it.

We’ve talked to him so, so much about this. He gets to a point where he just isn’t listening, in which case we leave him be and then try again later.
