Do alarms wake your teenager up?

DS’s alarm was going off for 15 minutes yesterday, it was going off as I got in shower and was still going off when I left the bathroom.
The alarm is right next to his head so not on the other side of the room and it’s a Lumie so it’s lit up before the beeping starts.
it’s happened again today (although this time I have gone and woke him up)

As a teen I once slept through an early morning alarm, and was only awakened by my DM after our next door neighbours had called to ask her to tell me to turn it off.
Do I win?

I'm such a light sleeper and my alarm rarely wakes me because I'm already awake anticipating the noise and shock from it going off in advance! Those vibrating under the pillow things sound like my worst nightmare, think I'd have a heart attack!

Dd on the other hand would sleep through most alarms, or at least she'd wake up but then go straight back to sleep. This is what usually happens on a school morning, so more and more I've had to go in and draw her curtains and switch the bedroom light on where it's still quite dark at 7. She seems to be able to ignore noise but not the light!

My teen DS’ phone alarm goes off in his bedroom (on a table right next to his head) and wakes me up. It’s not quiet, given I can hear it in the next room, but it doesn’t wake him.

I give it a minute or so, and if I don’t hear signs of movement, I ping him on FindMy, which makes his phone make a much louder noise. I then listen out for the shocked and irritated grunt that confirms a successful wake-up call.
