Period problems

DD is in year 11. In the last 6 months she’s been vomiting, feeling very nauseous and faint and having to lie down for half a day on the first day of her period. She feels quite unwell for the day, and a bit run down on the second day. She’s normally healthy and very active, this isn’t like her I’m worried about it happening during GCSES, it did impact her mocks. We’ve got a doctors appointment coming up, what might be our options? I know there’s the pill, but that sent me slightly loopy, so not keen on risky that. Would mini pill work? Or would we just be better delaying her period for a few days/ months?

Does she take Ibruprofen for the week leading up to her period?

My Y11 girls both on the pill now for this. I hated being on the pill; but for them, for now, it seems a good solution.

Norethisterone is a good option if she is looking to delay her period around exam time. My DD also finds mefanamic acid tablets help her period pain. Hope your DD finds something that works for her and she can give her exams her best shot ☺️
