We bought DD a personalised number plate. Something she can keep forever and went down well.

I got my ds a st Christopher for his 18th and will do the same when my youngest turns 18 in December. St Christopher is the patron saint of travel and although we’re not really a religious family, I wanted them to have them for their onward travel in life……

Also gave money, and a few other bits and pieces

I bought my DS a record player a while ago. He started a record collection so now I'm sorted for future presents too.

I gave my DD money, bought her some ltd edition LPs by her favourite artist, make up and jewellery, but also a couple of keep sakes - a lovely wine glass with crystals and a personalised message engraved on it, and a personalised necklace.

What are his interests?

I made birth to 18 photobooks for both of mine and money for driving lessons or whatever, I was on another thread for suggestions but literally nothing anyone suggested would have been wanted by them, it is hard.

he said he doesn't want clothes or money as he is working so I set for that. he has everything for his room like TV gaming PC. he's also at that age where he is out with his mates most nights. going to get a beer glass for him. he has asked for a personal number plate for Xmas as that's all he wants 🤔

We booked our son a helicopter flight followed by a lunch with family. He loved it !

Money always money unless they ask for something specific

We bought DS a watch. He needed a new watch anyway as the one he had (an older style garmin) was past its best, but rather than buying another more basic garmin, we bought a more expensive one so it was more special and more of a keepsake, even though it is a smartwatch and not a traditional analogue watch which I guess would be more traditional for an 18th or 21st

Dd had a voucher for a city break so she could choose her own dates and destination.

Ilovelurchers · 20/09/2024 18:40

Some kind of gift experience? Depends what he is in to obviously. Something like theatre tickets/concert tickets/driving experience/falconry experience/tickets to see a sport/spa day..... You get the idea.

Something he would enjoy but probably wouldn't get for himself.

Memories he can treasure.

If you want to get him something small to keep, as well, then a wallet or keyring an item of jewellery if he wears it?

Or a tattoo if that's his thing?

What’s your budget.

lemonyellows · 20/09/2024 19:01

Gig tickets?

ImNotTheMatix · 21/09/2024 20:02

What about a signature aftershave similar to Creed Aventus, though Creed have just brought out a new scent. It’s pricey that you’d probably not buy for any birthday.

a car or driving lessons

Adventure day gift voucher.
