I’m just wondering what op done for their dd/ds?
My dd’s is a little bit away & very near Christmas. I think too close to hire a hall etc. Was anyone else in a similar situation & how did you make it special?

Have you asked the young person in question?
Do they want it to be "special"?
Be prepared for if they say they just want to go to the pub with their mates!

My ds was absolutely clear that he didn't want a big party.
We went out for a nice meal on the day, just us plus his girlfriend, then had some family and close friends at the house for a sort-of party at the weekend.
As part of his present he and Dh also went to a concert that he really wanted to go to.
It was all lovely. I would ask your Dc what they want to do, rather than try to plan something for them.

(This was end of November btw)

My daughter is in December and didn't want a party.
We had afternoon tea in a posh London place with champagne and then take away at home with two friends. She loved it

Yes, have asked. She doesn’t know! Just looking for ideas to put forward to her really.
It’s the same problem with presents etc (she’s so hard to buy for & she never really asks for anything during the year that helps)
I expect she will be down the pool hall with her friends too, she’s one of the oldest so I think pub will be next year :)
Yes, she would like to do something but just very indecisive.

I love this. Dd would love a party, but probably wouldn’t be enough to fill a hall but too many for my small home )
I also think also it’s timing being so close to Christmas & concern over who’s free/not.
A concert would be ideal but seems like no-one’s on tour till the summer so seems like a long wait.

That’s sounds great too!
Maybe I’ll look on groupon or somewhere for ideas.
Thank you.

my dd is December born also and for her 18th we hired a party bus that dropped her off into town where they went for food and drinks.
