Reasonable time for Age 14 yo to stay out?

My ds thinks we are being unreasonable that he has to be home by 9.00-9.30 weekdays and 10.00 weekends. He is often out walking to local
shop with friends (shuts at 10). After that we feel there is no good reason to be out .

what are others thoughts on home time at this age?

Depends where you live but we are in a not particularly safe part of South London and the time my 14 year old has to be in depends very much what she is doing. If she is round at a friend's where I know the parent is in and feel it's a safe place, 9 or 10. Wandering round going to shop and hanging around in the park would be 6.30/7.

Thanks we live in a fairly quiet village/suburb.

I think your curfew times are more than reasonable for a 14 yr old.

Thanks I feel at the limit of what I feel is acceptable. Actually I feel it’s too late really. But apparently we are the strictest parents.

I have a 13 year old and 9.30 is the latest.

10 feels too late to me. We live in a quiet leafy village.

My almost 13 year old isn't allowed out after her tea! Definitely not unreasonable.

That’s too late.

Completely reasonable imo. We've never really enforced rules but my daughter is 15 and doesn't really have time to go out after school as she has homework and clubs but if she does, it's mainly just to a friend's house or to town (or a friend will come to hers) and she'll be back by 8pm. She's never asked to go out later than that on a weekday. On weekends, she's allowed out basically until it gets clearly too dark. She knows that if she's not back before 10, we'll be worried, and she'll call if she's later than expected.
