Learner insurance

Dd2 unfortunately didn't pass her first driving test yesterday. There is a 3 month wait for her next one ! She is having official lessons but had also been insured as a learner in my car. She has since bought her own car and wants to now be insured as a learner in that with me sitting next to her. Does this mean I have to also be insured in her car or can she just have learner insurance on it ? She would like to take her next test in her own car too. I am just not sure how the insurance side of things works and would like to help her do this the cheapest way. She is 18 and had worked and saved so hard for her little car.

That's massively helpful. Thank you for replying. We will give them a call today.

Although there is a massive test shortage, I found that there were cancellations when you actually look. Especially for that week when people realise they aren't quite ready.

Thank you. She's managed to bring it forward by one week so far! Can I also ask is there any way I can also get insured in her car if she has learner insurance on it so that I can drive it to pick her up from college and she can drive home?
