Drugs rehab for teenager age 17?

Any suggestions for residential drug support and rehabilitation for a teenager age 17?

There are also mental health issues but the primary pressing issue in the view of CAHMS and social services is the extensive drugs use. They are saying that there are no facilities available for teenagers but that doesn’t seem right to me.

Any suggestions welcome.

There aren’t really inpatient placements for young people. How long off 18 are they? Are they engaging with community services?

I heard something on radio 4 last year about a parent who had lost their child to drugs and unfortunately i think they said there was no residential facilities for under 18’s which i personally think is ridiculous

I expect services will vary a lot depending on location. Sorry that's not a lot of help but bumping for you...

Is this for private provision?

With some googlimg I've found Banbury Lodge which seems to offer inpatient adolescent drug rehab. Maybe if they can't help they could advise you? I hope you find something.

Thank you for your replies. He turns 18 in March. NHS or private provision- either if they exist. Yes, will be in touch with Banbury Lodge in Monday. Adolescent community services for drugs in our area don’t seem to be geared up for a problem on this scale.

Any other ideas welcome. I just can’t believe that the situation is totally unprecedented such that there is nothing out there, even though that is what CAHMS and social services are saying.
