Teenager and toddler

Is there anyone who has a teenager and a toddler? My ds is nearley 16yrs old and my dd is nearly 2 yrs old. I would like to hear from anyone who is in similar situation.

Yes, a bit of an age gap I know, but one of the great things about it is it's the best form of contraception I know for a teenage lad!

dd1, ds 13.

step-teens as well!

I love the contrast, it's so cute seeing the big lads go all mushy over their baby sis when they think no-ones looking.com

talkingmongoose · 28/03/2008 14:44

looking.com?

bollocks, some kind of predictive text thing going on, typing on the nintendo wii

(another reason to love teens)

I have 3 dcs:
ds1 : 17.5
dd1 : 14.5 (and will be lucky to reach 15 if she speaks to me like she did just now!)
ds2 : 6 yrs

most of the time they get on very well. eldest lad is good with 6 yr old and is good babysitter.

As a couple of you said, very good contraception! DD1 does not want children till she is at least 25!

BabieWabbit · 22/04/2008 01:53

Hi CC- Not sure if you know 'Wabbit', but i am her daughter...
I'm 16 myself and my brother is 2. And yes, it is most deffinatly the best form of contraception for any teenager!

Chluro · 22/04/2008 21:01

Me as well!
DD1 14.5
DD2 5.5
DS 3.25

Little ones are WAY easier than the big one!

JackBlackRoady · 27/04/2008 22:26

woah, there are loads of us! i have DS 13 and DD 2.5 weeks old!!! DS driving me mad at the moment, DD is easy to please in comparison!

Squirdle · 01/05/2008 17:58

Can I join the club

I have DS1 14, DS2 5 and DS3 3.

Thankfully DS1 is pretty laid back and we don't get too many teen strops, but it did cross my mind when pregnant with DS3 that I might have the toddler and teen tantrums all at once!

liquoriceallsorts · 01/05/2008 20:05

Hi - I have:

DD 16
DS 14
DS2 3

Everyone thinks you have instant babysitting but NOT the case. DD loved DDS" until he wasn't a baby - now he is 'brat' etc. She only deems to entertain him when her friends are around admiring him lol.

ranting · 01/05/2008 20:15

I have 9 years between my two and actually I've found it very easy, ds is 14 and dd is 5 and he's great with her.

He does like his own space and she does torment the bloody life out of him sometimes but, I find that as long as he has some time to himself, he's fine about reading her a bed time story once a week and doing the odd hour of babysitting (as long as it doesn't clash with his blossoming social life).

Klaw · 02/05/2008 22:27

My ds (sulkign cos he wants on the pc) is 14.8 and dd is 35 months today.

He can babysit for her, she orders him around...

Thay adore each other, but I do want a sibling closer in age for her.

atowncalledalice · 03/07/2008 13:35

My eldest son is ten years older than his brother. We had some serious problems when ds2 was born (rampant jealousy from ds1), but it settled down eventually. ds1 has never been particularly bolshy so the early teenage years were actually fine - ds2, however, looks set to be a different kettle of fish. He's only eight but he already acts like a teenager most of the time!

minniedot · 03/07/2008 21:10

Ds aged 16
Ds aged 22 months.

Adore each other.

toomanystuffedbears · 11/07/2008 20:39

DS is 15 years
DD1 is 14 years
DD2 is 4 months

DS is more nurturing than DD1. She likes the baby but doesn't go gaga silly over her like DH and DS do. To put it in her words: "I'm not throwing a parade, Mom."
also from her re: contraception:
"You do know you aren't getting any grandchildren from me don't you?"

fizzbuzz · 11/07/2008 21:31

I have dd 2 dss 18 and ds 14.

Dd has just thrown up all over herslf, her bedd and her bedroom.

Dss entertained her in the bath, whilst I mopped up sick. Ds put duvet cover on, and helped turn the matress over. They both cuddled her and were very kind to her, and FANTASTICALLY helpful. I would have really struggled without them.......
