I am thinking too much about this

I currently have a 15 and 12 year old at comprehensive school. Last summer we had a number of issues with my 12 year old at school and I was in regular communication with the non teaching head of year who was really supportive and helpful re some bullying and we communicated quite a lot. I expressed my thoughts on possible neurodiversity and discussed melt downs at home. She is also aware that we have a diagnosis for my youngest too. She was very supportive and always thanked for me for my support and gave good advice . She reached out at the start of this school year and I confirmed everything was okay and the issues seemed to be resolved thankfully.

Anyway fast forward to now the same person at school has moved to looking after year 11 so has been involved recently with my older child re some silly behavioural things, being late, non uniform adherence nothing major just lazy boy who doesn't want to go to school. She often emails on a Friday with an update on the week which I always respond to to thank her. She always seems thankful that I always back school up and work with them.

Anyway my eldest has come home today and mentioned that during a lesson with another unrelated teacher he said to him ' I know what is happening at home and understand' obviously my son is perplexed by this as doesn't think anything is going on at home and neither do I.

Anyway this has really got me paranoid that somehow the kids are flagged at schools as having issues at home, or some sort of abuse going on that I'm not aware of. I've always communicated well with school, and I'm really worried they think something is happening that isn't

I'm tempted to email this person and mention what my son has said and query it? Or do I just leave it? Surely if they had concerns they would have flagged it with me? Am I just being paranoid.

I should imagine the teacher got your ds mixed up with another pupil.

I would think the same. Mix up or assumption there’s more going on than there is. I used to have people assume I had family problems due to my piercings and dreadlocks (I didn’t, my parents supported the way I chose to present myself and knew I’d grow out of it -which I did).

So youve 3 DC, youngest with ASC diagnosd, middley on some sort of school potential-ASD radar? Oldest has been in bother for forgotten-pe-kit, not the right coloured pen type stuff.

Id guess teacher has to chastise the trivial forgot-my-calculator stuff, but is tellunf DC not to worry.
