👋 my 12 year old son has been followed and chased from the tube station by a group of older kids (13/16 range)
The walk is very small so he immediately entered into our gate. They opened our gate and chased him through our front garden, one of them telling him "I'm going to shank you".

Eventually we opened the door, he got in and they left.
We see these group of teens everyday hanging out in our road... they threw stones and caught one of our neighbours, she scolded them and they replied a sexual threat (grab her in the middle of the legs).
It seems they were also the ones who kicked another neighbour s door down and stoned in, only to be chased away by him who was at home.
We called the police and they say that what they told my son is a criminal offence and want to know whether we want to press chargers.
We don't know what to do. The police says the boys are minors so nothing will be done to them and I fear they might get even nastier to my son.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and can help make a decision?
We have footage of the kids entering our property and chasing my son, but he will have to report the sentence he hear (for which he doesn't even know the meaning!).
I don't know what to do!!!

Personally I wouldn't.
I don't trust the police though.
I would try to make sure he is with others when out and about for a little while.
Poor him, and poor you.

Hi, thanks 🙏 in what way wouldn't you trust the police?

It's not true that 'nothing' will be done but as it's his word vs theirs not much may be done. Still report to police and get a crime number just in case. Did the neighbours report? If not get them to do so too. The bigger picture they have the more can be done about them.

If they are regularly causing trouble in the area it's anti social behaviour and there are things the police can do, but it needs to be reported to build a picture.

Thank. Yes the neighbour reported it.
The safe neighbourhood officer told us he will speak to the local school and see if they can identify them.
I'm picking up my son from the station everyday now.
