Acne

Hi I was wondering if anyone can recommend a product for back acne? My ds is 12 and is very much in the middle of puberty. The amount of big, pusy white spots on his back is unbelievable. The area around each spot is very red and some of these have clearly burst and gone crusty. The rest of his back is covered in little bumps almost like sandpaper. Any advice would be welcome

Poor lad. I took DS to the GP when he was 14 with facial acne. A long course of antibiotics got rid of it, for good, within a couple of months and it never came back. He had a topical cream as well, but without the antibiotics it wasn't enough to shift it.

It’s probably worth going to your GP. I did for my DS as nothing was working. Currently on a three month course of antibiotics and using Azelaic Acid cream. Fingers crossed this works.

Definitely a trip to the gp for a low dose antibiotics. I had bad facial acne which never really went away and continued in to my 20s. I took a low dose antibiotic and it cleared up and never came back.

You can do online consults with an online GP/pharmacy nowadays I did for my DD and got an antibiotic ointment that cleared it up you can just send photos

@Grassy82
I might try this as my dr is a nightmare to even get through on phones nevermind an appointment

It was really fast and cost me about £15-£20 I recall.
