when do they learn to drink sensibly?

she's had her head down the loo for ages and is now in bed with a sick bowl.

she's meant to be working at 6am

How old is she ggirl?
I was your dd, but maybe worse, 3/4 bottle of malibu (yuk)is what I drank.
I remember being so hungover that I puked on the bedroom floor. My dad ran me a bath made me go in it and cleaned the bedroom floor then took me to work. I had to be at the greasy spoon (my dads mate ran) for 7am, my dad told him what had happened and even though I was supposed to finish at 12, my dad asked him if I could work until 2 (no pay for those kast two hours either) Believe me I felt like shit, but ... I have never drank like that since.
She is young, she will learn the hard way ... like we all have.

Well, this is the first lesson!

Best thing is to make sure that she is up and out in time to get to work. Yes, she will feel like shit (if there is any justice in the world), but she will also have to realise that just because she has a hangover that there is no special dispensation, and that the world has to continue to turn.

Unfortunately we don't really have a sensible drinking culture. You can talk to her about it, but I don't think it makes any difference.

DS1, who is now 16, asked if he could have a drink at our New Year's Eve party. I said yes, pleased that he had asked. What I didn't bargain for was that he and his mates would then - having been given permission to have a drink - sneak drinks all evening. Cue inevitable drunkeness. I made DS drink a litre of water very quickly, (sitting over the toilet) whicn made him vomit. The upshot of this was that he felt fine the next day - and I did think that perhaps I should have let him ingest all the alcohol so that he had a disgusting hangover the next day!

I think, though, that this was a good lesson for him - and has certainly given us the basis for a discussion about drinking the next time he's likely to go out.

She's 16.

Last time she got drunk was her 16th birthday on NYE ,she annoyingly felt fine the next day.

I hope she feels like shit tomorrow.

Must go and check on her.Now I'm worried she'll puke and choke and wondering if I should stay up and listen out for her.Bloody children!
