Hormonal Teenage Boys?

Hi All,

My DS has turned 13 & with it has come the dreaded puberty hormones.
He's Sweaty! Something he is struggling with himself & becoming embarrassed by. So he takes deodorant in his school bag with him to use when he feels, what id like to know is 2 things -

  1. is there any teenage based stronger deodorants that aren't going to block his pores.
  2. any tried & tested solutions for when washing his school shirts? they come out white & clean after being washed but when i iron them i can smell the sweat as if it hasnt been washed at all.
please help guys!

Soak the sweet parts in vinegar for 30ish minutes before putting them in the wash.

There is special anti sweat liquid from dettol, you ll find it in the supermarket.

Is he using an anti perspirant or just deodorant? If the latter, switch to the former.

Make sure he is washing with proper bar soap, not shower gel.

Mitchum. Their roll on is very good, the solid bar type is even better. I have two teenage boys and since I bought them this, they haven't been smelly, even after a weekend DofE expedition/6 hour shift in a kitchen. Magic!
Their friends, however, who seem under the impression that liberally sprayed lynx does the same job? Envy (not envy)

I put vinegar in the machine with ours and wash with powder, not liquid. Biological powder, if possible.

He needs an antiperspirant and deodorant, and he needs to be sure that he's washing himself properly with bar soap.

Also, deodorant is pointless, it's just perfume. Teach him the difference between between antiperspirant and deodorant. It's not an either/or, you want antiperspirant to stop the sweating. Deodorant is an optional extra, if they want to smell like deodorant.

This.

My youngest finds this is the only thing that works! He then doused on the lynx as a normal teenage boy

My DS uses the Mitchum stick for men. It's really good when he remembers to use it 🙄he's only turned 12 last week but he's needed to use it for a few months now and he's still getting into the habit of putting it on!

We also had a problem with him not washing properly in the shower and still smelling when he got out. I took him shopping and let him choose his own shower gel and scrubby which seems to have helped. He chose a mango one from the body shop.

White vinegar and bicarbonate soda are really good for getting odours out.

Another Mitchum recommendation here. Plus a shower at least every morning. If he is struggling with underarm sweat and anti perspirant isn't cutting it, he could consider using something like Driclor at night.
I wash shirts at 60 with a scoop of vanish with the washing powder.
