Ideas for teenage DS's 18th?

DS will be 18 early Autumn. He is not the most sociable person on the planet, and is a bit of a Lone Ranger. He has a GF. He doesn't want a massive fuss, and doesn't want a party.

I think being 18 is a big deal, and want to do a few things for him. He likes days out, fabulous meals, and music. We are going on a couple of holidays in the summer and perhaps may add some things into this.

Please help me with ideas on things to do and things to buy him. We can't think of anything he would genuinely want or need (he's very low maintenance and not into clothes, or sport).

My daughter has just had her 18th, and we got her VIP tickets for a band she likes, and a ticket (plus travel and overnight stay) for a music festival. Could you do something similar, or a swanky restaurant voucher, seeing as he enjoys those things?

We are taking our son to a restaurant in The Shard for his 18th. No idea what to buy him as a gift though!

Having a tasting menu meal/being seated at the chefs table might be an extra special experience.

Does he just listen to music or play anything? We bought ds an expensive keyboard for his 18th.

I've got DD a piece of jewellery and some expensive boots she's been hankering after.

She wants a horse, but is waiting until she's passed her driving test so she can actually drive to the yard herself!

She earns more than I do already (in the Forces) so it's a bit tricky!!

I desperately wanted to celebrate my sons 18th - first born and all that.

he desperately didn’t want to.

we went to the local pub, just family. It was an ok evening, but he just wasn’t in the mood to make the big thing out of it I wanted to and I had to respect that.

we gave him the funds that had amassed in his child trust funds invested in an ISA as his present, about £5k, and the rest (another £1k) in cash to spend which he did when he went interrailing.

For my son's 21st tge present which was the biggest hit was a bracelet from either etsy or not on the high street, it has a disc in the middle where you can have coordinates engraved. I chose our home coordinates so wherever life takes him he can always find his way home
