My 12 yo being billed by 14 yo at school and after school on the bus

I have two older kids 13&12 and my 12 year old has told me that’s he’s getting bullied off a 14 yo boy during school and on the bus. He kicks him, grabs him and throws him, he sits behind him on the bus so he can kick his chair and throw things off my son.
miv asked my son if he will tell a teacher but he wants me too…… I worry this will make it worse? What do I do? Do I go into school and ask for a meeting, do I call school and ask for a meeting?

Yes, definitely call the school, tell them what's going on. Can he sit at the front nr the driver, don't know if that'd help in the meantime?! Equally if hes got a smart phone maybe try get him to video it or get a friend to video it as evidence. Anybother wY he can get to school?

justasmalltownmum · 21/03/2023 20:47

Of course you tell the school and they should warn the bully, and then next time remove him.

ApocalypseNowt · 21/03/2023 21:05

Yes definitely report to the school.

I'd be tempted to take a trip on the bus myself tbh not recommending this though

Shoot4theMoon · 23/03/2023 11:14

Yes a trip on the bus would be a good idea but I’d end up loosing my cool. My son has got pics of this boy as he doesn’t know who he is so he can show the teacher I have spoke. To the teacher last night as my son rang my while he was on the bus he was crying saying mam he won’t leave me alone I said put this phone on speaker…… I told this boy well and good his photo of his ugly ginger mug is going viral form my tiktok account if I here one more word from
my son that he’s done anyhing out of line! The boy then got off the bus 5 stops early so we will see what the teacher has to say today to him

What does your 13yo have to say about it?

ApocalypseNowt · 23/03/2023 16:51

It's a shame no adults stuck up for him on the bus but unfortunately people don't want to get involved. Good on you for letting the bully know you're on to him, hope it helps.

Has the teacher come back to you now?

Shoot4theMoon · 23/03/2023 20:47

My 13 year old is a girl my 12 year old is a boy they barely even speak and my 13 year old doesn’t get this bus she usually goes to friends houses. There is another bus my son could get and he says he just gets which ever one comes first as the other bus he has to get off half way and change so he prefers the bus that brings him straight home but it only runs once an hour . I have Asked my 13 yo dd if she knows this boy he’s in the year above her she said “ he’s an absolute lanky ginger freak who is constantly getting bullied him self” so my thought is he’s very angry inside from being bullied so is bullying my son to try and make himself feel better. My son has said he didn’t bother him today after my quiet word last night so I do hope this is the end of it all

And no the teacher has not called me back yet neither did she call my son in today for his statement which has annoyed me how lapsy Daisy they are being about this. A school near me was having similar issues a couple of years back and the bullies chased the poor boy into the road and he was killed instantly by a double decker bus! Poor boy was only 12 also and the boys were older. Bullying should be took so much more seriously

I would be at the bus stop to warn the bully off if this was my child. Waiting for teachers to call etc is a waste of time. Sorry but your child needs to be protected

Karatequeen · 23/03/2023 21:00

Get your son to write a statement covering what happens and when, how often. Keep it factual.

You then email this to the head, form teacher and head of year. Explain your child will be off school until they can ensure the issue is remedied and son will remain safe.

If you fail to get a response or an adequate response follow the schools complaints procedure which you can ask for.

BCBird · 23/03/2023 21:03

I wouldn't advise confronting the bully yourself as u might say or do something yiu regret. The last thing yiu want is a charge of assault. Ring the school again. Hopefully you may find that investigations are already taking place,e.g.gathering statements from other pupils who.take the bus. Good luck. I hope it is resolved soon.

BibbleandSqwauk · 28/03/2023 07:15

My son gets bullied and I have every sympathy but please stop using bullying language and threats yourself
. Calling him a "lanky ginger freak" and putting things on TikTok is absolutely not the way to model behaviour for your own kids or to get the school to back you. If you carry on like that, the other boy's mother can complain that an adult is bullying her son and you'll get nowhere. Take all practical steps to remove your DS from the situation and absolutely raise it with school.
