Tests for cancer

Feeling completely desperate....
My 17 year old daughter is undergoing tests for blood cancer, which has devestated us as a family. She is angry with me, her mum because I have spoken to family about her possible diagnosis, without her permission. She is now refusing to discuss anything about her test results or consultations with the haematologist with me so i have no idea what is going on. I understand she is trying to take control of a terrifying situation but her refusal to talk to me is breaking me 💔

So sorry for what you are all going through Flowers

Can you send her a message, apologising and reassuring her that had no intention of upsetting her, but that you needed someone to talk to too? Tell her you will absolutely respect her wishes from now on and just tell her you are there, whenever she decides.

She can read a message whenever she wants, however many times, before responding or reacting. If you have already tried and failed to have an actual conversation, this is what I'd do.

She will come round, I'm sure. She's scared and like you say, taking control.

Wishing your family the best possible outcome.
