My son had started a course in sport and exercise science in September but has realised the course is not for him and he is wanting to leave. Obviously I don't want him to be unhappy and we fully support his decision. However now he needs to get a full time job and I don't really know where to start.

He currently works p/t in a convenience store but is not keen on retail. Waiting staff and the like is probably out too as he is a bit socially awkward.

Ideally l'd love for him to get an apprenticeship and that's something we may look into. But does anyone have any ideas for what he could look at with not a lot of experience. He has excellent A level results (ABB English Art and journalism) but just not sure where they could take him . As you can see from his A levels choices and choice of F/E course he's a bit all over the place 😀.

What's a good industry to get into where he could progress? (BTW haven't ruled out returning to education next year).
Thanks!

Lots of students seem to do office work with Bridge Street so that might be worth looking into but I would get him to have a think about what he does want to do? Could he try a couple of Open University courses or courses at night school whilst he works to serve if he enjoys the field?

What about a life guarding course and seeing if he can get a job in a gym. Do you have a David Lloyd near you? The dl kids club run sports club type things for kids.

My nephew is a lifeguard niece works in Waitrose and they have great perks even if he isn't inclined towards retail.
My ds was a kitchen porter which is just a bit of a slog but ultimately money.
