Is Lalique fashion jewellery suitable for a 16yr old?

My dd is 16 this month, I’ve already bought a silver ring months ago that I saw, but I’m struggling for something else.

I’ve asked what she would like and she doesn’t know, she’s also very reserved so I imagine she doesn’t want to seem demanding.

16 is a big Birthday to me. I still have the ring my parents bought me. I wanted to buy her something that she will like now but will be able to keep and use in the future. I’ve seen these but I’m not sure if it’s suitable for a 16yr old??

what do you think? Any ideas??

Would she appreciate something more bespoke - hand crafted jewellery perhaps. I'm thinking of that because I've been watching ‘All that glitters’ on BBC2 and appreciating the incredible skill.

My other choice at 16 and now if I had kept them, would be tiny diamond studs. ( Tiffany possibly - tho no idea what they would cost).

Dd is 16 and got a Pandora bracelet for her birthday. Not my thing at all but she loves it. I just got the starter bracelet and one charm. She has since brought a couple do charms and brought one in Venice in the summer of the Rialto bridge as a souvenir.
so I like that idea that she collect the charms herself.

my mum brought her the Tiffany two heart necklace for passing GCSEs and I got her a beaded bracelet with the matching heart on.

Thanks everyone,

I wasn’t really looking for timeless and classic, rather something that’s unusual that would be worn. It is fashion jewellery rather than fine jewellery. Either way its universally unpopular so I’ll steer clear of that I 😂. Thanks for that, it was a genuine query I was in two minds and I’m glad I asked rather than just buy it.

I agree that if I buy more jewellery it takes the shine away from the ring, which is a one off, unique piece.

I really like the idea of the jewellery box,. I’ll have a look for something like that.

Thanks again everyone for talking some sense into me 😂

I felt the same and got DD a not-cheap piece of jewellery that I thought (from other things she had liked or looked at) she would like. Like you I really wanted her to have something as a keepsake, especially as I was in the middle of cancer treatment. I was so pleased with my choice - but she doesn't wear it and I can tell it isn't quite to her liking after all! I was a bit gutted - but lesson learned. Wish I had got something like the jewellery box instead.

Jewellery is so individual isn't it

On the theme of a jewellery box . My dd loved my jewellery role . It's a more modern take on the jewellery box and you can get it personalised I think .

It's ugly, sorry. And doesn't look expensive (even though it is). If jewellery, I would get something from Tiffany's. Otherwise, something like really posh afternoon tea (I love it) or a weekend away together?
