Hazard section of driving theory test

My DD thinks it's necessary to be taking driving lessons prior to taking the theory test due to a section in the theory test about hazard warnings and how to respond (so the need to have actual experience of what to do in an emergency?) Apparently her DVLA theory book recommends this??

Does anyone have any experience of this as she's not currently having driving lessons? Thx x

I don't think it gives any advantage, but as theory test passes only last 2 years it makes sense to start lessons around the same time you book theory, especially with on going backlogs getting practical test dates.

I think it makes sense, yes. You won't get used to reading the road and what's around you if you don't ever drive. Also as PP there is no point in taking a theory unless you are doing lessons as it will expire.

Thx she has had some lessons and plans on doing an intensive course at Easter - so she has some idea of driving!

No you definitely don't. It's not a hard section and if tests are still hard to come by why wait ?

Thx Maymay x
