What could my dd have been up to? Slurring her words

My dd is almost 13, she came home last night around 7pm she’s been hanging out with some girls the same age, when she came home she told me what she had been up to a few days earlier (which I already knew) immediately I thought she’s been drinking, then she began slurring her words and we could hardly understand anything she said. I asked her if she’s been drinking she said no, I couldn’t smell any drink on her. I then worried it was some sort of drug however Iv never personally tried drugs so I wouldn’t know the effects or what seams to be popular on the street atm, so I’m worried what she could have been up to, she told me nothing at all, no drink or anything at all. This morning she was fine and not slurring her words so what ever she did wore off by morning.
any ideas anyone??

Does she suffer migraine?

I suffer and often have this often, it doesn't present as a headache until much later and by then I've lost control of speech, fine motor skills and much of my vision. I've been mistaken for being drunk, high, suffering from stroke, disabled. Onset can be fast. Most likely to hit around ovulation time and period time.

She's 12. I don't understand why you didn't take her to seek medical attention straight away?

I hope she's okay.

You seem remarkably relaxed over this.

I wouldn't let anyone in my company go to bed slurring their words without an explanation, especially a child.

It could be anything from gas, alcoholic, drug or a medical issue.

Without an explanation,I would have told her she needed a medical assessment and followed through on it, if she didn't start giving you an adequate explanation.

Being stoned doesn't make you slur your words. It gives you red eyes, the munchies and makes you giggle, usually. OP, was it in a drunk way? Could it be solvents?

Depends. If someone has had a large quantity of edibles it can cause people to slurr words, lose their balance (similar state to being drunk) etc

Elsiebear90 · 26/07/2022 18:01

It’s probably the most logical explanation which is she was drunk, depending on what she was drinking and given she’s 12 she probably didn’t need large quantities to get drunk, you might not smell it.

She probably got into the Tramadol stash you brought home from Mexico OP.
