Should I be worried about son’s eating habits?

Ds (16) diet has never been particularly great. Zero fruit but pretty good with veg considering nearly all he eats is pasta, breaded chicken, pizza, junk food.

A number of time however I have caught on to the fact that he’s been into the cupboards eating things like those writing icing tubes for baking, syrups, nearly full packs of sweets/biscuits meant for us all. I just went in to find a sticky toffee pudding I forgot I bought a couple of days ago. Again for the three of us. I asked if he knows where it is and he said yes. I asked several times where, no reply, asked again, no reply, kept walking about getting ready, still no relay.. I asked again why are you ignoring me because you just said you know where it is?
Reply was I know where it is because it’s been eaten - by him!!! It was for the three of us.
Is he just sweet toothed? Am I not feeding him enough, he eats pretty much the same as us except he refuses breakfast and will only buy noodles when out for lunch at school so I only really get to provide him with his dinner. Does he have an eating problem? He won’t get active these days either which also won’t be helping him.

I have 3 teenage boys and they eat an extraordinary amount of food. I'm guessing he's just hungry.
Have you got plenty of food he can help himself to? Noodles, crackers, cereal bars, yoghurts etc?
Having said that it's unacceptable to be eating the food that is for everyone, so I'd put a stop to that!

That’s just it, I have all of those. Fruit, yoghurts, chicken pieces, cooked meats, cereal bars, eggs. The lot. He won’t eat any of it. Not even a sandwich. It’s got to be tuna pasta, other pasta or basically pasta. He’ll eat most dinners I make which I do try and get the veg into but it’s this dipping into the sugars I’m worried about too x

He needs more protein e.g. meat, chicken, lentils and yes - tuna rather than veg and carbs like pasta, rice and bread. As I suspect he's eating the sugary food because he is really hungry and sugary food makes you feel better though it doesn't keep you full for long.

I'd have a chat to him about what sorts of things he'd like to be eating and work out a plan together. It's normal for teenage boys to be hungry all the time and eat a lot but obviously not ok to be eating food meant for everyone or so much that isn't nutritious- thinks like tubes of icing for writing on cakes or syrup on its own are obviously a dead loss nutrition-wise and probably not very nice either.

Mine eats about 3 x as much as me and lots of meat, especially when active. Pasta or noodles without protein just makes them hungry again. Often we actually provide a meal directly after school! Maybe the chicken then and he may get interested in other healthier snacks?
