Automatic or Manual lessons for my son?

I’m so confused since I passed in a manual car over 25 years ago but with manual cars becoming less popular in the next 8-10 years I’m wondering if automatic lessons will be better?
It will be quicker for him to learn, therefore cheaper and I’ve seen a 2nd hand auto at a good price which he can practice in, plus our 2 cami cars are automatic.
Any opinions to help me decide please.

Definitely manual, then he can drive both. I've just employed a young man who only has an automatic licence. He can get to work in his own car OK, but it's a real pain that he can't drive our vehicles. There's also assumption that he has an auto licence because he couldn't pass properly...

Manual, unless you want him to be shurgging 'sorry, I can't drive a stick' like an embarrassed American for the rest of his life... It's not that hard!

Manual.
Once the skill it learned it's not lost if he never owns a manual car

I would go for manual, it will give him more options. Particularly if he wants to buy a car, auto will be more expensive, if he wants to hire a car abroad, auto will be more expensive. Best to pass in a manual and then decide. My DS passed in a manual at 17.

Manual.
I think you’re a way better driver when you understand how to control your speed with gears.
I don’t agree with others saying automatic because of what’s coming in the near future. That will affect the next generation of drivers, not this one.
