Relationship is a little fraught atm and need a gift that is not OTT but thoughtful. I have no ideas other than jewellery, I can't think of a book other than the Wicked Teenager although apt I don't think will be liked ..

what sort of things is she into?
eg music,books, clothes, makeup,
is she your dd?
how about a day out with a facial or manicure and a pub lunch?

ShinyHappyStarOfBethlehem · 17/12/2007 12:59

Is she even a SHE?!

dingdongmerrilyonFLIER · 17/12/2007 13:00

hmm good point

potoftea · 17/12/2007 13:01

Maybe vouchers (I am guessing it's a girl due to jewelery mention), for her favourite shops or places to go like cinemas. It shows you know what she likes to do, and what she is in to.

ShinyHappyStarOfBethlehem · 17/12/2007 13:05

Price range? Relationship?

A nintendo DS
or games for one
A iPod/iPod phone
iTunes vouchers
One of those fab makeup pallets they keep advertising on Superdrug/Boots adverts
A nice perfume, one these that the celebs have put their names to, of maybe a celeb she likes?
Tickets for a show/concert in the new year

Weegle · 17/12/2007 13:06

L plates?

rebelmum1 · 17/12/2007 13:11

She's dp's daughter but they have fallen out. I don't really know what she's into at the moment as we haven't seen her and it all feels like a different world to me. She has family that spoils her rotten so I was looking for something around 30 that was thoughtful.

Gran is buying her driving lessons and her mum a car later in the year!

cinema vouchers.

dingdongmerrilyonFLIER · 17/12/2007 13:14

I would just give her some vouchers for topshop or somewhere.

ShinyHappyStarOfBethlehem · 17/12/2007 13:25

Oh yes.. or one of those driving courses with a test at the end? (Pricey!)

rebelmum1 · 17/12/2007 13:27

I'd rather get her a book or something she's fallen out with DP because all she is into is clothes and fashion and boyfriends, expects to have everything (understandably cos she has got everything) - I don't know of a teenage girl who isn't into clothes and fashion

OP posts:
rebelmum1 · 17/12/2007 13:29

She's into it in a big way, wouldn't look out of place on a catwalk and is perfectly groomed, to the point that any fashion type stuff we provide would look naff.

If she's into clothes and fashion, get her something she will like not something she ought to have! What about an Amazon voucher, so she can choose her own books/DVDs/CDs?

Vouchers much the best option for teenagers, they are so picky and easily offended...

EmilyDavidson · 17/12/2007 13:49

If you want to get her a book how about Russel Brands autobiog ,its called My Booky Wook , my 16yr old has asked for it

dingdongmerrilyonFLIER · 17/12/2007 13:53

I think an amazon voucher would be the best option, then she can get pretty much anything she wants. you could buy her a book she either already has, or one that she won't read.

rebelmum1 · 17/12/2007 14:53

That's a thought, on Russell's Brand's biog I think she'd like that.

What about Starbucks cards. Two of my DD's often go to Starbucks with thier friends. So I have bought them one each with £6 on for thier stockings but you can put a larger amount on. You can get them from £5 to £150. Although I don't know who would want to spend £150 in Starbucks!
