Does anyone else struggle with giving their teen career advice?

My kids are in their last years of high school and I find it difficult to help them with career advice as I'm not 100% sure of what all their options are. I know there's more options than just university but it's hard to find information about them, and their school career advisor doesn't seem to tell them about anything else other than uni.
I want to help them find something that they will enjoy but I want to make sure it's also going to be a safe bet for them, I just don't know where to start. Does anyone else feel this way?

Have you found Not Going to Uni website ?

I think none of us have a clue about probably 80% of the jobs in the world. Then I also think many of the jobs our dc will be doing in 20 or 30 years time, don't even exist yet.
I also think very few people born since about 1990 or maybe earlier than that, will do " a job for life" anymore.

I think the key is to get across to them that very few people know what they want to do whilst they are still at school, and, of those that think they do, only a portion actually end up doing that job. The important things are to do the best you can with the skills you've got; to gain qualifications where they are to be taken (be that a music exam or a 2*certificate in canoeing or a DofE award or a coaching qualification) - it's always better to be able to say I have a Grade 6 in piano, rather than I play piano, or I am a rugby coach rather than I help out at my daughter's rugby team etc etc; to try out as any opportunities that come your way and keep an open mind; to get some work experience (for a whole list of reasons); to treat people how you would like to be treated yourself; to have a good work ethic.
