Pet bereavement & moving

For various reasons, I've decided to market my house this week and hopefully move in the new year. This should be exciting as we'll be up-sizing but I'm filled with dread.

It's just me and my DD13. Unfortunately, she lost a beloved pet rabbit earlier in the year. She took it really badly, it was the first time she had dealt with bereavement. The rabbit is buried in the garden. She regularly goes out to the garden to chat in the spot she was buried and has a bit of a shrine in her bedroom with photos etc.

I'm really struggling to work out how best to deal with approaching the subject of moving. She can be anxious at the best of times and while she's old headed, she doesn't yet have the ability to think about things like this logically yet.

Has anyone been through similar and can advise?

Can you get her one of those pieces of jewellery in which you can put ashes, I'm sure there are pet style ones, and put a little piece of soil from bunny's grave in it? My mum was scattered in her and my dad's back garden, and if/when my dad eventually has to move, I'll be doing the same with some earth from the flowerbed. (for me, and for him if he likes the idea)

Thanks for the quick reply. That's a good idea. I've actually already taken a cutting of the plant next to the area for rooting which I thought might help.
