Ds 16 reduced appetite and stomach pains

Gp has suggested it could be psychological but he's so happy at the moment.

For his entire life he's been such a hungry boy, he's very tall like dad 6'4. He used to look for food and I couldn't feed him enough over the past several years.
Really worried since seeing Dr this morning yet pleased he's running stool tests, bloods etc. He's on borderline underweight level on bmi chart.
He has stomach pains in the morning which he used to have as a child are more frequent but no bowel changes.

In your experience - does that ravenous appetite during the growing years come to an end? It's so weird to see him only eating half a plate full of dinner and not asking for anything else for rest of the evening.

Thank you for any advice

Glandular fever possibly? My ds had horrendous abdo pains with that.

NotAnotherPushyMum thanks, no he's otherwise well. No fever, not run down etc...

When are his bloods?
Have you asked him if he feels nauseous or if he simply feels satiety ( fullness) sooner than before?
Have you got a recent baseline weight and ( without causing anxiety) what is his weight now?
Has he lost weight?
How old is he?
Exams?
Friends?
TBH it is unlikely to be something organically sinister, however, you should be confident in pursuing this as you know him well, he is your son, and your history is very important in ruling in/ruling out illness of any sort.
I wish you good luck.

Oneearringlost thank you so much for your message.
Blood test as soon as I can get an appointment for him, next few days. No nausea only satiety sooner than expected ie half way through a meal. Not happening with every dinner, most though.
6'4" and he's 70 kg, not losing weight which is reassuring. About to turn -16 in two months, mock gsces but says he's not worried about them. Friends are wonderful.

Thank you.
