Where to go?

My DD16 (17 in Aug) is struggling with her MH. We are under CAMHS and she takes anti depressants. I want to take her away somewhere to build our relationship and connect. I live in the West Midlands. Where can I go that won’t cost the earth?

I also have 2 more kids (boys) a couple of years older than DD (returning from uni soon) and a husband (DD’s stepdad). Is it mean to leave them all at home and go away with just DD?

DD also has a pet rabbit, we would need to take him with us as DD looks after him.

No it won't be mean and can't DH look after the rabbit for a couple of days?

What sort of thing were you thinking of? A travelodge in Manchester or a Camping Pod in Wales or something inbetween?

It's a lovely thing to do for her btw Smile

Thanks @BunnyRuddington. I was thinking of something in between, I was looking at caravans in Devon but everything is overpriced and booked. I think I have left it too late as schools break up soon.

Ideally it would be a place where we can do things together as other than watching tv together we don’t really do much.

I know it might sound a bit odd but what about North Staffs?

You could have lunch and paint pottery at the Emma Bridgewater factory one day and visit the Trentham Estate another day.

Places like Dovedale are beautiful as well and not too far away.

Another idea might be Chester? You can easily spend a day at the Zoo if she likes animals and then another day waking around Chester, the Roman Walls are worth a walk and free and there's shopping and plenty of places to have lunch. The Market is tucked away but has some amazing food stalls.

Look at the YHA website, Great family rooms or various camping options. Often have games rooms, pool tables, board games etc. Choice of country, city and coastal settings. Can self cater to cut cost, or not - most do food. We tend to self cater breakfast, make packed lunch and eat hostel food or in pub in evening.

Thanks for the ideas all, I will do some research on these places 😆
