Bad skin

Not quite teenage yet but I thought this would be the best place to ask, do all teenagers get such awful skin? My daughter is 10 and has the most awful spots all of a sudden! What’s best to stop them?

Watching with interest as I imagine things have moved on since I got acne in the 90's! My boy also suffers and I'd love to know what would help him

I also had It very bad when I was younger Nodney but I remember none of the stuff my mum bought made it better, think it was called clearasil! If that’s still a thing.

This product really helps manage DS’s skin, I can tell if he’s missed a day.

He also uses acnecide gel on his nose most days.

I think it’s a combination of products containing salicylic acid to exfoliate the skin/unblock pores and benzoyl peroxide to kill off the acne bacteria which works.

It can be quite drying especially on sensitive skin but I'd recommend getting your dd some benzoyl peroxide cream OTC. It kills the bacteria that causes spots/acne.

I think some teens are lucky and have really good skin but many are not.

I always had terrible skin and so do my daughters. I have had roaccutane twice and they have both had to have prescription creams.

DD2 did find that hers improved after 4 months of antibiotics and then all started using The Ordinary products and seen a big improvement. Especially the Nicinamide which isn’t an acid. Daily cleansing is important and sometimes Bp can be harsh and stain things so don’t start with too high %, salicylic acid can better in my experience

Thanks everyone will check out those suggestions

We tried every product under the sun! Nothing worked, we took her to the DR and they prescribed antibiotic cream and tablets, they take about 6months to fully clear but noticeable results after a few weeks.
