Best parental control app?

Hi, my DS is 14 and DD is 12. I have recently come to know some of the kids in DS's school have been discussing a porn site which makes me wonder about parental control. I have installed an app called Bark, however not happy with it, as it is not flagging any websites or WhatsApp or sms. What is the best software or app to control internet usage on android phone (including social media) and windows laptop please?

Virgin media has a block for this. I put it on yesterday- unhappy husband Hmm

But other than that I have family link. But he is a teenager at 14 so he will do these things

Family link has a tracker you can block things and also screen timer :)

Can you please explain family link ? I use something like on iPhone/iPods but is specific to apple. Thanks

It's for android users. You can all have it if want for example a family thing. But I have my dd on it. Basically I can see what she downloads where she is how long she is on it. I can block downloads and it has a screen timer on it. I set it up when she was refusing to go to bed

Family Link is the basic one for android, totally free and very good. For more control we use SafeLagoon that potentially lets the parents to see everything they do on their phone, but it's not free. I tried several parental control, it's very hard to find something flagging/blocking all the inappropriate stuff without fail, at least having a complete report (just screenshots) of what they saw lets us to be aware of what's is going on and eventually take some measures (blocking specific websites/socials, restricting screen time or no phone at all for a period).

I can highly recommend Safe Lagoon. You can see content of all texts, social media, all photos and screenshots of the phone every minute. It also shows the phone location. You can block specific websites too. It's on Google Play

Do you need thier phone to set safe lagoon up?

Children's access to the Internet causes many problems for all parents. This is not about stupid TikTok videos. In fact, I have always been very scared that almost any crazy person can recruit my child on the Internet and make him do terrible things. The porn site is also not so terrible next to such things. I also took this step and downloaded the FamilyOrbit phone parental control app. For more information, click here. I can see all the messages on my child's phone, the websites he visits, and more. No, I'm not at all ashamed. I don't care who thinks what about this.

Family orbit looks like a great tracker but I mainly want a screen lock, and this is not available on iOS.
Tried Screen Time and Qustudio. Both work but can be buggy.
It isn't easy to find a system that works across android (mine) and iOS (hers).
Used these apps a two years ago as it stopped midnight endless swiping and provided some accountability without a massive row. When she got a new phone I relented and did not put the app on. Big mistake. 15 years old now and we are in the white water of the teenage journey to adulthood!
I may be out of date but Screen Time was not accurate in measuring how long daughter was on various apps. Customer support was good and they refunded my £30 without quibble though.
Qustudio was slightly better but is £36 for the year. Worth it if it works but it did not always. On rare occasions it would lock up her phone even when I was not instigating. It had to be uninstalled on both devices to unlock. Tricky when I am at work and daughter "needs it for homework".
I am a computer science teacher and father of three. I want to allow personal space, as we had in the 80s. I do not want to give up all control at 15. I do not want more stress and rows than are already happening. But she has made some risky choices recently so the app is going back on. I just wish there was an app that actually worked consistently, with a timer and screen lock. I am still hunting, which is why I am here.
