My DS (15) wants to go with his mates to Brighton for an overnight trip

Hey,

My DS and his mates (all 16 apart from my DS (still a little foetus)) want to go to Brighton on an overnight trip. They want to stay in Premier Inn and I was wondering whether Premier Inn would allow my DS to stay being 15, has anyone had any experience with these situations?

Thanks,

Sharon

According to their T&Cs, the answer is no:

"5. Occupancy
The maximum room occupancy is two adults. Family rooms (where available) can accommodate two adults and two children (under the age of 16). You must not exceed the maximum occupancy for the room allocated to you. We reserve the right to conduct checks on occupancy. Occupancy is not transferable.

Children under 16 are not permitted to stay in a Premier Inn hotel unless a parent or guardian is also staying in the hotel. We reserve the right to request valid photographic proof of identity and age, so please bring this with you otherwise where requested you will not be permitted to stay. "

That would be a definite no from me

FasterthanBolt · 01/05/2021 18:41

Regardless of Premier Inn's rules absolutely not and I'm a massively laid back parent!

alexdgr8 · 01/05/2021 18:43

just say no.

Physalis · 01/05/2021 18:45

Nope from me too!

Chalcroft · 02/05/2021 16:23

Definite no

OnlyInYourDreams · 02/05/2021 16:25

Absolutely no way would this be allowed in my house.

Checking whether the premier inn would accept him wouldn’t even be a thought, because the answer would be no to even going in the first place.

FindingMeno · 02/05/2021 16:26

No, whatever Premier Inn says.

FunTimes2020 · 02/05/2021 23:53

Too young
" little foetus"?! 😦

halcyondays · 03/05/2021 00:15

I don’t think anywhere would let under 16s stay without an adult nowadays so that should solve the problem.

sweetypop · 03/05/2021 00:50

I was shaking my head saying no before I even opened your thread... just no

RainedOn · 03/05/2021 01:02

What a ridiculous idea. No.

Trappedonanisland · 03/05/2021 06:40

I've got a 15 year old DD. Not a chance would I allow that.

HandforthParishCouncilClerk · 03/05/2021 07:13

Brighton is not the safest of cities, not a chance I would be allowing this!

KatherineJaneway · 03/05/2021 07:19

Heck no.

Serafinaaa · 03/05/2021 07:22

I stayed in Brighton with a few friends in the summer between lower and upper sixth. So we were 17ish? Had a great time and made lots of memories. Felt very safe. Stayed at a backpackers hostel called 'baggies'. Maybe they could wait another year?

Temp023 · 03/05/2021 07:25

I am the most laid back parent in the universe, my 14yo was buzzing off on trains to follow her favourite band all over the country, but I absolutely drew the line at staying the night anywhere.

Temp023 · 03/05/2021 07:25

Definitely one more year.

mamaduckbone · 03/05/2021 18:14

Good lord, no! You can use the Premier Inn regulations as an excuse.

newnortherner111 · 06/05/2021 18:41

Please have some respect and love for your DS and do not refer to him as a little foetus.

As for your DSs request, no is a complete sentence

tiredanddangerous · 06/05/2021 18:43

Hell no!

PinotPony · 07/05/2021 09:48

Absolutely no! Brighton can be amazing. It can also be pretty scary late at night.
