Pre-teen bra fitting

Hi ladies,

Can anyone give any tips or pointers to where I can take DD11 for a bra fitting?

I only really know of M&S that do fittings but DD thinks M&S are just for us saggy-titted oldies. Just wondering if there's any more modern places that anyone can recommend?
TIA 🙂

Shes probably a 28 back, if she is narrow. If she only has a small chest just now, probably a 28b would do. If she tries them on she must wear the back on the tightest hook, to start with, as she'll grow and can go to the next hook if she needs more room. And no underwires, a softer cup would do. If shes a bit broader dye to playing sport a 30b is worth a try. Also remember to get a sports bra for pe at school and any sports she does.
Try john Lewis emily non wired bra and see what they recommend in a sports bra.

Boux avenue? Bit trendy but do proper fitting?

ssd · 25/04/2021 23:13

They are doing non contact bra fitting just now. You can book an appointment online if you are near a jl.

Thank you ladies hasn't thought of JL or boux avenue and there's one of each near us 🙂

Not really any surprise that people where the wrong size bra when a random person online tries to guess what size a child will be. You have little no idea how much breast she has or doesn’t have but you think she will be a B cup 🤷‍♀️

There is a Facebook group call Boob or Bust which gives very good measuring advice.
ssd · 26/04/2021 07:00

Of course I've no idea what her breast size is, but I'm not going to ask the mum that question on an online forum. I'm going by a guess as its a first bra. I did tell the op jl has a non contact bra fitting service. I didn't suggest i could telepathically know her dd size. So you can have your 🤷‍♀️ right back.

SteelMack · 26/04/2021 16:06

Thank you I'll look at boob or bust as well. Might end up learning something for myself as well! 🙂

My recommendation for pre-teen bra fitting is an independent lingerie store. Dress size doesn’t mean your DD11 will be 28 back size. She could be smaller. It is recommended that pre-teens wear non wired bras as they are still developing. M&S, John Lewis are high street brands but can I recommend Royce starts from 26AA, DIM 26A and BoobsnBlomers
Good luck

Newhousehope · 27/04/2021 07:43

On this topic, how often should they be measured? I used boob or bust for my 11 year old, and she’s nearer 12 now and obviously still growing. Was thinking more crop top style so not really a cup size would work for her, but I’m no expert. I can’t remember how often I changed my actual size/bra as a teen 🤔

Seeline · 27/04/2021 07:49

I would have thought at that age you should be checking every 3 months or so if growing rapidly. My DD always told me if she was getting uncomfortable.

Definitely recommend Boob it Bust too. So many places measure incorrectly, and so many women are in the wrong size. Usually too big in the band, and too small in the cup.

Comefromaway · 29/04/2021 22:03

Don’t go to Boux Avenue, they don’t measure properly.

We were always pleased with John Lewis when dd was that age. Only slight issue was that dd was a 26 back and nowhere did them.
