Child is year 8 , it all kicked off after lockdown 1 (well emotional issues started earlier ) but post lockdown school refusal started majorly when he was assigned to a new class
Now I’m handling
Home school refusal
Actual school refusal

Finally speak to attendance officer who is great but says much focus needs to be made in repairing my relationship with him

Easy to say , less easy to do when you have an angry and emotional and often volatile teen boy

Had anyone had this

Getting MH support for a teen is the hardest things I’ve ever handled

Anyone else had this and came though

If so how TY

Unfortunately it is being very hard for parents specifically for the kids with this lockdown and with boys is even harder. My advice is to chat with them how important is to do the school works, my 6 year old boy always complains about school works but I tell him that he has do it because it is important for him and I even mention that I will tell his teacher that he doesn't want to do the work, which he doesn't want me to do, and some days he is more tired about it so we just do small work and when he has plenty of energy we take the opportunity to learn more. Is very important to help them to participate in homeschooling so it will be not to hard going back to school. Hope you will be able to help your child

Wow that sounds so difficult. Has the Attendance Officer said how you are actually supposed to do that?
