Hi
As the title suggests really ds (15) could do with starting to shave he has bum fluff on his top lip and chin!
I am a lp and other than watching my dad shave when I was about 5 I don't have a clue!!
Ds has quite sensitive skin and is the sort who, if shaving hurts/cuts/stings will give up and not do it again!
What is best a battery razor where he can't cut himself (but then what products do I need?) or a bladed disposable razor and just hope he doesn't cut himself to ribbons??
Please help 90% of the time I know I am pulling off this single parent thing but then that other 10% hits me in the arse and I question everything!!

DS has something similar to this as suggested by my step dad. He said not to use a proper razor until he has more than just bumfluff.

This post has good advice previously.

I’d recommend an electric razor with a foil rather than the circular style. I wouldn’t recommend using the above trimmer

Just been through with this... ds is 16 and fair so not much hair

Match 3 razors are great expensive but seem better for sensitive skin

Try shaving oil or foam

And if he's a bit spotty make sure he uses a face scrub for a few days before he tries so he doesn't cut his spots.

He'll know what to do... just don't go against the hair growth! at first go with it.

Can I ask why not? DS has had his for over a year and its fine for the little hair he has. -And his monobrow.

I got ds(17) one of these circular style at Christmas

www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-5000-Electric-Shaver-Turbo/dp/B071Y9YPMM/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&s=drugstore&keywords=Philips+Series+5000&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1615905588&sr=1-3

He only has a tiny bit of fluff at the corner of his mouth, nothing on chin yet but thought it is likely to increase this year.

He uses it about once a week or so and it works on his fine hair no problem. It is the same style as his dads which has lasted 8 years so far so I expect this to last a while too.

So going by this thread you should buy a trimmer, buy a razor, an electric, a foil or a circular 🤦‍♀️

Most will do the job, don't overthink it.

I took DS to Boots to look and there was a young guy restocking the shelves who gave DS some advice. Bought this and it's good Braun cheap electric
