Help - dd is showering at 1am

Dd is just 14 and ASD (high functioning). We’ve had numerous rows about her going to bed late.

I’ve tried to get her to agree to be finished in the bathroom by 11.30pm but she never is.

Her phone and laptop switch off at 11pm, I really don’t know what she is doing after that. A lot of faffing around, chatting to her sisters.

I know she is a night owl but 1am showers are ridiculous.

How would you handle this?

@DenisetheMenace

Our son isn’t ASD but his timetable is all over the place, being out of College. I suspect it’s a very, very common problem atm.

Is she in school?

It will be, but there’s a massive difference between a neurotypical timetable and a neurodivergant timetable

I think 8 or 9 would be very early to remove an autistic teenagers tech during lockdown or any teens tech.

I think some things need to be earlier, and next week's resumption of school is a good reason to use. I didn't think of the sneaky smoking and disguising it, I thought of another activity that involves only one consenting person.
