Self Confidence in 15yo

I'm not sure if this topic or secondary education would be a better place to put this.

At ds parents evening last week a common theme amongst the teachers was his lack of confidence and self belief that he has in his abilities. He's very bright but has never believed it which is affecting his grades. He loves school and is a really happy boy although his anxiety is a stumbling block. He is on the spectrum and anxiety is the main thing he struggles with.

Is there a way to increase confidence, especially in relation to school work?

Hi
I have a 13 year old daughter, also autistic which shows itself as anxiety. I don't have any solutions to this problem of self confidence I'm afraid, but I wanted to say you're not alone.

I do try to give DD small ways to be good at things eg we talk positively about her baking, and we all say she's the best at different games etc. And I hope that may increase her confidence generally

Hmm

it's not easy OP.
my 15 year old is much less confident than his big brother and I can see how it may hold him back.
he is also not entirely NT. So he's rightly concerned about following the herd (as opposed to being a "corrector" Sheldon type person)
You just have to keep it moving in the right direction.
