What kind of things does she like? Is she in Y10?

Applejack87 · 21/01/2021 19:30

Yes year 10, she’s my cousins daughter I haven’t got a clue what she likes it’s a difficult one

It's harder if you don't know what he's into. My DN is the same age and likes notebooks from Paperchase but she's a fairly quiet sort of girl.

RosamundePilcher · 21/01/2021 19:48

If you don't know what she likes, then I would give her the voucher.

Ifeelmuchlessfat · 21/01/2021 21:40

I’d go to Superdrug and Poundland (I’m classy like that Grin) and fill a basket with face masks, bath bombs, nail varnish, creams, lip gloss, photo frames, chocolate, nibbles, maybe even a cheap paperback, socks, etc etc and wrap them all nicely so it’s a fun, time consuming gift. Sometimes to eat/play/wear/read?

katy1213 · 21/01/2021 21:44

They all seem to like bath bombs from Lush. Or something grown-up, like a Chanel nail varnish instead of cheap ones from Superdrug.

Inastatus · 21/01/2021 21:50

@Ifeelmuchlessfat - that sounds lovely but not really doable in the UK at the moment.
OP if she’s into make-up then Morphe or Kiko are very popular brands for that age - brow stuff, eye shadows, lip glosses. Otherwise nice things for her room - LED lights, cactus plants, light box, cushions, throws etc.

Ifeelmuchlessfat · 21/01/2021 22:16

@Inastatus perfectly doable actually as I did it today for a neighbour. Both open in the town where I live and next door to each other. HTH.

Ifeelmuchlessfat · 21/01/2021 22:17

Oh and another popular thing are the light bulbs that change colour via an app. £12 or so from amazon.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 21/01/2021 22:21

If you don't want to go into town OP you can get similar packages from Etsy although you're obviously paying for someone else to put it together for you.

Oly4 · 21/01/2021 22:22

I’d buy a gift voucher for that age

MrsFogi · 21/01/2021 22:26

Amazon voucher - you can't go wrong. Or one of those vouchers that can be used in lots of shops - (Gift4All I think it's called).

Inastatus · 21/01/2021 22:27

@Ifeelmuchlessfat - I stand corrected! Can’t believe Poundland is an essential shop!

pourmethevino · 21/01/2021 22:30

My dd was 15 in January and her favourite gifts for Christmas/ birthday this year was:

An LED Ring Light with stand from OnBuy.com, delivery turnaround was excellent on this.

A Chilly bottle (she loves this)

A colour changing lightbulb from Argos around £20

1x 10" LED Ring Light with Stand for Youtube Tiktok*

JiltedJohnsJulie · 21/01/2021 22:36

A Chilly bottle (she loves this

Chilli bottles are a really good idea. My DD and all of her friends seem to love them.

Squidsister · 21/01/2021 22:36

It’s a tricky age, they can all be so different. I would go with a gift voucher.

LaPoesieEstDansLaRue · 22/01/2021 12:50

I'd go with an Amazon card, or ask her mum/dad for ideas. Some teens love make up/bath bombs/girly stuff but many have no interest in it.

Applejack87 · 22/01/2021 15:31

Thankyou all so much for your ideas

Amazon voucher or a £20 note. Then she can get what she really wants. All teenagers like money

Catsup · 23/01/2021 04:07

Definately a voucher or money. When I was that age I was happy with Dewberry, Rimmel, and No7 (showing my age here 😂). But for Dd it had to be specific brand/palate or it'd have never been used! And obviously that's only if she's into beauty products which she may well not be.

Applejack87 · 23/01/2021 17:41

I agree Catsup I loved Dewberry but yes the kids these days have it too good

Try a gas ATV! I know it's over your budget but believe me, it's definitely worth every buck!
My daughter is 11, she's obsessed with the quad. Some parents think that ATVing is for boys only but they are wrong. My girl is into spinning a wheel :)
As I knew nothing about gas ATVs, I checked some reviews before purchasing. Here's the review that helped me pick the quad: www.kidsatvsale.com/kids-gas-powered-atvs/
I chose the 125cc ATV that is age-appropriate. What a beast! I wish I could fit the seat too 😆 Any ATV fans here?
