Help with waking up teenager

Am in need of some help. Have a teenager (15), who struggles to wake up in the mornings, doesn't matter how loud his alarm is. He does, in a normal life, do a lot of sports training and matches so is obviously tired from this too. I know that it is a known thing that teenagers internal clock alters to stay awake later and wake later and do still need a lot of sleep. I am sure I saw somewhere about an alarm clock to help wake them up, but can't remember the info now. Anyone any ideas or tips?

Is he struggling to wake up or to get up?

If he's literally not waking, I'd have a chat with a doctor, especially if he's not currently doing his usual sports and still not responding to his alarms.

But if he is actually waking up with his alarm, but then going back to sleep, putting the alarm on the other side of the room so he has to get out of bed to turn it off is probably a good strategy.

Hi, thank for the reply. It is that he has his phone alarms going off loud but does not even hear then to snooze them. I have to go in a physically wake him up and can take 15 - 20 mins

@PurpleMustang Ds1 tried this device and didn't like it but gets out of bed very easily. Ds2 loves it, a sunrise alarm clock.

I actually have Ds1's for myself but I will admit to putting a yellow acetate sheet over it as it starts off with a lovely glow but then becomes interrogation white Grin the closer you get to the alarm time.

I bought a pack of coloured acetate or overlays and tried different ones to see what I liked.

this is mine but I got it from Costco so it was about £24. Obviously there are plenty of others on the market.

It just slowly increases the light levels in the room which may help rouse him from a deeper sleep. What time does he go to bed though? Mine go very early and get up very early too.

@PurpleMustang look into a cheap FitBit that has vibration alarms. Harder to ignore something buzzing annoyingly on your wrist than a sound.
