High Sleepers

Hi,
I thought I’d post on the board where is be most likely to find some expert opinions: I’m looking to buy two white wooden high sleepers for DD1 (10) and DD2 (9) but they all get such mixed reviews, I can’t work out which one to buy! I don’t want any shelves/desk underneath as I want the freedom to do what we want with the space underneath.
Thanks in advance for any advice given

Also, reading to them wasn't easy, they like to snuggle up and we were just standing by each bed to read.

Now the oldest (12) needs a double bed really so it will be all change again! But I'd never get mid sleepers again.

why would a single person need more space than a single bed?

Yes, I don't understand this trend of giving double beds to children.

Thanks for all your advice. If we had a spare bedroom then I’d split them up but we don’t so I’m just trying to give them some space each within the same room. We already do Storytime in my bed as I don’t climb into DD1’s top bunk and, as I say, I’m well versed in climbing to the top bunk to dress the bed. It may be only for a short while but this is definitely the best choice given the space that we have. Just looking at which bed to choose. Thanks

What’s the youngest people have put kids in these. Our 4 year old wants one, I think at least another year, but is that enough.

One of mine fell out of a high sleeper at age 4yo. I wouldn't get one for my DC (or future GDC) before age 5.5, preferably 6yo.

my dc went from toddler beds to high sleepers around age 7.
usually it's recommended that children don't sleep higher than normal bedheight before 6 yo

Going back a few years to when I got one for ds...
In the good ole days, when you could walk around shops and look at things. And even touch them.
We chose a dreams one
The bed was fine. The sturdiest one we found. But the delivery company were worse than useless!
I would have a look on local selling sites if I needed another one.
And I know a few teens in doubles as they are very tall/too long for a single. So sleep diagonally rto keep their feet in
