Dd being threatened

It's a long story but essentially, my 14 year old is being threatened via snapchat by a group of girls. I e seen some of it but the nature of SC is it disappears. Then once I clocked in and got my phone ready to photograph the messages they stopped.

She's refusing to go to school and has said if I tell the school they'll "get her". I believe that's the case... but what do I do?!

Do you know any of the girls' parents by any chance? If you do, and if you feel OK to approach them maybe!

I think it would be best to go directly to the school and tell them. Even if you don’t have photographic evidence I believe they will still have to take this seriously, it’s the same as if someone verbally threatened her. Just because you don’t have evidence doesn’t mean the school can’t be told.

Tell the school. Don't contact the parents - if it were your DD doing the threatening and she denied it, you probably wouldn't believe the other parents and it would start more drama.

If you think there's a serious risk to your daughter's safety or there have been any prior events of violence, go to the police as well as the school.

Don't contact other parents to resolve teenage issues.

Contact the school - they can be discrete about keeping your daughter safe, if needs be.

If the risk to your DD is very serious (knives, weapons, previous violence) go to the police as well as school.

With my son, I talked about consequences- so if they actually did "get him" then the long term consequences for the others involved will be much more significant to them than the actual harm to him. This helped him rise above the threats.

Also - block the stresses on Snapchat and all other contact means.
