How do you actually fat your teenagers off their screens at night?

Ds14 has to hand his phone in to us - 10ish in the week, 10.30-11 at the weekend.
It's an ongoing argument because we are the most unreasonable parents in the universe, obviously, and the ONLY ones who don't let their teen have their phone in their room.

Screens are off at 8pm in our house.
The phones have screen time set the iPads I just remove.

They can watch tv with us. Play a game or read

My problem is getting my husband to agree to switching the WiFi off! My sons on it because he’s on it. I have problems getting son up for school as he’s absolutely knackered every morning and gets up about fifteen minutes before his bus arrives. He wants to make a point that he doesn’t need to get up, sit about doing nothing, get breakfast as he doesn’t like breakfast. He doesn’t seem to realise he needs a good bit of time just to wake up, shower, go to the toilet where he is forever

I do that with the parental control app, electronic devices are blocked one hour before their bedtime.

You don't need to switch the wifi off, just install/activate the parental control function on his devices (for android we use Family Link, for apple stuff look for Family Sharing, both free; Microsoft and game consoles have built-in parental control), you can set also a maximum screen time of one or two hours a day that is essential to avoid internet addition and bad sleeping caused by over-excitement.
That is all automatic so much less discussions and arguments too.
