Does anyone speak teenager?

Just walked my 3 DC home and a small group of teenagers was being obnoxious in the park. They had taken a kids scooter left out for the scrap man and proceeded to chuck it in the river. I politely said don’t, didn’t get any grief and they stopped for a bit but carried on once I walked off.

Does anyone have any advice on how to say... what you are doing is moronic and has zero purpose in teenager speak please? Ideally so they listen!

I just say “ I know your mum”

How were they being obnoxious? I would have taken the scooter off them personally.

I wouldn't care about larking on an scavenged scooter, I need more information about "being obnoxious".

As for chucking items in river, I'd say "Hey guys don't do that. You know better. You're just making a mess for someone else to clean up."

They may tell you to F off, but the principles will settle in their brains. Teens are idealists & (very badly) want to do the right thing, want to believe in pure rights and wrongs. The words may not work this time but may stop them from a repeat.

“I say, my dear old thing. Jolly poor show with the scooter. You will be on a sticky wicket if I see any more of that nonsense”.
