a fab belt

there's a lovely one in river island for £20,my teen dd drools over it.

anything from topshop as she'll automatically think it's cool

Blondilocks · 05/10/2007 17:57

You can get vouchers for iTunes so that may be good if she has computer / mp3 player to put music on.

14 yr olds love all the highschool musical stuff aswell

dustystar · 05/10/2007 17:59

They seem to like bling at the moment. Claires Accessories do a selection of cheaper stuff or Accessorize do some nicer stuff. Its hard as it depends on what she likes. I was a bit of a goth at that age and would have loathed anything bling (still do actually). You could always ask her.

dustystar · 05/10/2007 18:00

Or if you get on you could always take her out for a girly day. My neighbours girls love doing this. Take her out for lunch and let her choose something from Topshop or wherever.

brimfull · 05/10/2007 18:02

Does she have a mobile phone? I got my niece a MoPod like this one only more expensive (grr)

crkm · 05/10/2007 21:14

we just did a mini driving session at rockingham speedway for my 14 year old dd. (she's not a tom boy and she loves her make-up and stuff). she had a great time learning to drive and can't wait to go again!! its for 12 -16 year olds and there was a mix of girls and boys there. well worth it for something different to do!

janeiteofthelivingdead · 05/10/2007 21:38

A big box of smellies from Lush?

Boots have nice Christmas sets out now - little manicure sets, lipbalms etc - not makeup but grown up enough to make her feel as if it is!

Topshop often have quite interesting jewellery for that age group.

Aero · 05/10/2007 21:49

I've just bought a birthday present for my friend's 15yo dd. I found a really nice box with four funky mugs in it in Primark. Then I bought some sachets of maltesers and galaxy hot chocolate, some Cadbury flakes and a big bag of marshmallows. All you need for a night in with your girlfriends. She absolutely loved it. Whole lot only cost about £7.

shrooms · 08/10/2007 21:23

Yes - lush is great, and so is body shop.

Is she sporty? If so, a nice sporty t-shirt or nice hoodie jumper from a high street sport shop.

A good DVD, funny book, or cd is good.

You could see if she is in to arts and crafts and if yes get her some cool cardmaking gear from hobbycraft or equiv.
Something different and interesting like an aromatherapy book/kit might go down well.

lovey · 11/10/2007 17:12

Chances are, if she is a teen and not a chav (cheepish grin, she will love Jack Wills or Abercrombie and Fitch. Have had lots of experience with this!

Whizzz · 11/10/2007 17:26

Motherfunk - I was pondering making sterling silver charm bracelets to order (with charms specifically for the person) - handbags, clothes, mobile phone etc for girlies (or whatever she is 'into' at the mo

Megsdaughter · 11/10/2007 17:28

We started a charm bracelet for my neice at 13, and have added to it each year as have her mum/dad/grans.

This year started one for DGD and DDIL.

Niece loved it.

Tortington · 11/10/2007 17:29

deffo vouchers for HMV

Megsdaughter · 11/10/2007 17:29

Whizz x post great minds

cremolafoam · 11/10/2007 17:39

this is what my dd13 would love:
t-equaliser

Rosbo · 30/01/2008 19:28

Mine all seem to think that anything from Claires accesories is 'cheap tack' ! They love accesorize though, and topshop is always good.

Tanee58 · 31/01/2008 15:20

My father gave my dd a big bag of Claire's goodies last Christmas but one, when she was 14 - it was so sweet of him, and his choices were so weird (blonde curly hair piece - and she's got straight, dark brown hair . I had to sneak it all back to the shop, without a receipt, so as not to hurt his feelings. He'd spent about £30 and because of the receipt and most of the items being in the January sales, we got about £8 .

Deffo TopShop & Accessorize, H&M

tiredout · 31/01/2008 17:08

Nearly 14 year old DD saw the t-equaliser cremolafoam mentioned and squealed 'I want one of those, they're so cool', so you can't go wrong with one of those! Avoid the High School Musical unless you're sure she's a very young 14 year old, younger children would like it, but not for 14 years.
