13 yr old & bedtimes

Just looking for some opinions on bedtimes.... ds is 13 and going into year 9.

On a weekday he has to turn computers off at 10pm and then his phone at 10.30pm, he has to leave all his devices with me overnight including his tv remote. Weekends everything has to be off and with me at midnight. (Earlier on school nights but atm I'm just after summer hols comparisons)

He complains about this quite a bit and especially not being able to have his phone overnight. It's causing stress and bad feeling late at night.

I don't like to go to bed and leave him with his devices etc as he'd be on them all night but I don't want to be up late either or make him hand his stuff over too early.

His friends all seem to be up all night and asleep all day and tell him the rules here are crap 🙄 (I've told him countless times I don't give a crap what his mates thinks of our rules)

What are your rules regarding holiday time bedtimes?? I just want to be able to go to bed at a good time without a nightly 'discussion' on house rules 🙄

I'm Knackered

Mine are close in age so have had to have the same bedtime for all otherwise it wouldn't work (shared rooms etc). 14, 13 and 10.
Screens off at 9:30, takes them about 45 mins to do pyjamas and teeth, have a chat (suddenly they all get chatty and nice at bed time after ignoring me all day!) and read if they want.
Boys are usually chatting to each other until about 11 but if I hear them after that I tell them to go to sleep. I don't take their phones away, I have yet to catch them using them at stupid o clock, if I did I would make them put them downstairs.
They are all early risers, especially the eldest who likes to get up at 7-8 even on weekends so he can play his computer games. Middle one has the odd lie in, but usually gets woken by his brother.

I won't be able to keep the same bedtime for all of much longer though, so not sure how I'm going to work that with the youngest but all the time it's working this way I'm sticking with it!

I've never had any complaints about their bedtime or friends being up later. Ever. Which is actually surprising... Hmmm.

@northernspirit ditto. I don't think it's appropriate and doesn't set them up well for the next day.

My older 2 police themselves (17 & 18) but I tell my 13 yr old to go to sleep around 10:30. I no longer take his phone away, this is a new thing though. His room is next to ours so I can hear if he's mucking about. He's pretty good tbh.

The WiFi is disconnected to all their xboxes at midnight ( you can select which devices the WiFi goes off and at what time on the home hub admin thing). Too much shouting otherwise and it was doing my head in!
