My son is driving me crazy. He doesn’t eat dinner with the family at a normal time and then is rummaging in the fridge at 1 am claiming starvation. Is this normal teenage behaviour or should I be worried ?

What reason does he give for not eating with you? Have you noticed any changes in him? Eg weight, mood etc

Is he off school still ?
My 10 year old is ( year 5 )
And she thinks it’s ok to get a bath at 11 pm.
Then not get into bed till 11.45 pm

Oh and she may be in her bed at 11,45 pm but did I not mention that “she is not asleep “.
Happy days

It's fairly normal. Although I've had to ban my teens from helping themselves to anything regardless of time of day or night.

If mine dont eat their dinner at dinner time I put it in the fridge for later. Although I am trying to keep some routine so try and discourage them from eating too late

I think they need to control something, having lost most of their social independence. Food’s been a battle here too.

@Blondie1984 thanks . He says he’s not hungry earlier goes to sleep than raids the fridge lay at night . He’s year 9 so off school still. Thanks for the replies everyone
