I have a dilemma, two days a week I work till 5pm . I have a daughter who's 9 nearly 10 .My daughters school is refusing to let a friend pick up my youngest from school due to the new coronavirus rules as per guidlines today it has to be someone from the same house hold I'm a single parent . Is it legal for my nearly 15 year old to pick my 9 year old up from school just up the road and look after her for 2 hours till I get home . Both of the girls have neighbours oposite in case of emergency, my oldest is very sensible.

The school might have a policy about it but it used to be that older siblings from the secondary school would pick up children from the primary after school club that my kids went to so I can't see problems with it (although someone might be along with more experience than me).

He should be able to. He's from the same household so they can't have an objection on those grounds

They have 2 choices - either he picks her up or no one does.

At 9, if it's just up the road, why can't she come home alone? Us tgat it allowed at 9 now?

Thanks guys for the comments, they are not allowed to come home on there own until there final year of primary school. I will speak to the school on monday see what they say . I'm expecting them to say that no other children are allowed in the grounds apart from them at school. They would regard my 15 year old as a child we will see my head is going dizzy with all these changes it's so difficult .
